CSO Launches a Second Mini-Mobile Food Pantry

WATSONTOWN, PA (September 14, 2026) – Central Susquehanna Opportunities, Inc. (CSO) will host a Ribbon Cutting Celebration on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) Watsontown Center to commemorate the launch of its new Mini Mobile Food Pantry and the beginning of an innovative partnership with LCCC aimed at expanding food access throughout the region.
The celebration will take place at the LCCC Watsontown Center, located at 1100 Main Street, Suite 1, Watsontown, PA, and is free and open to the public.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Food Access Challenges and Opportunities Workshop presented by Zach Zook of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. The workshop will examine current food insecurity trends, barriers to food access, and opportunities for community-driven solutions.
At 11:00 a.m., community members, local leaders, and partner organizations will gather for a ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizing the addition of CSO's Mini Mobile Food Pantry and celebrating the organization's new partnership with Luzerne County Community College.
The Mini Mobile Food Pantry will enhance CSO's ability to deliver nutritious food directly to our communities, helping reduce transportation barriers and improve access to healthy food for individuals and families across the region. Through the partnership with LCCC, CSO and the college will work together to support student and community needs while creating new opportunities to address food insecurity through outreach, education, and resource coordination.
"The launch of our Mini Mobile Food Pantry expands our ability to bring food directly into communities where it is needed most," said Megan Bair. "Our partnership with Luzerne County Community College represents the next step in our work to support long-term self-sufficiency and community-based support. We're proud to celebrate both initiatives and the impact they will have across the region."
This project was made possible through the generous support of Northumberland County, Geisinger, the PPL Foundation, M&T Bank, and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
Community members, supporters, and media representatives are encouraged to attend and join the celebration of expanded food access in our region.
